본교는 1923년 개교하여 5만여 동문을 사회 각계에 배출하였으며, 2023. 개교 100주년을 뒤로하고, 새로운 100년을 향하여 건강과 인성을 최고로, 지혜를 길러가고 있습니다. 또한 유구한 전통을 바탕 삼아 변화하는 시대와 사회에 부응하여 새로운 역사를 창조하고 있으며, 능동적인 인재를 양성하고 있습니다.
  특히 역사와 전통이 깊은 야구부와 럭비부는 그동안 수십 차례 전국을 제패하여 오늘에 이르기까지 대구상원고(대구상고)의 이름을 드높이고 있습니다.

  The school opened in 1923 and produced more than 50,000 alumni in all walks of life. In 2023, we are cultivating wisdom with the best health and personality for the next 100 years, leaving the 100th anniversary behind. We are also creating a new history and cultivating active talents in response to the changing times and society based on long traditions.
  In particular, the baseball and rugby departments, which have a deep history and tradition, have dominated the country dozens of times so far, raising the name of Daegu Sangwon (Daegu Sanggo) to this day.
